<div itemprop="description">It is with great sadness that her family announce that Margaret Elizabeth ( Biff ) Andrews passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Feb 1 after a brief and courageous struggle with cancer. Elizabeth leaves to mourn her husband of 57 years, Bob, her children Robert ( Kathy ), Scott ( Robert ) and Susan, grandchildren Sarah, Candice ( Tim ), Kyle, Jared, great grandchildren Liam and Colton. Elizabeth is also survived by her sister Anne.<br />Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents Robert and Eileen Thompson and grandson Jonathan.<br />Elizabeth was born in St John&rsquo;s, NF on May 23, 1936 and graduated from Memorial University with a BA in fine arts in 1957. Elizabeth and Bob met at Memorial University in 1954 and married in 1958 in Halifax. After a brief stay in Toronto they moved to Calgary in 1963 where they settled and raised their family. Family was the most important thing in her life and Elizabeth, Mom, Grandma and Gigi was loved and will be greatly missed by all.<br />Outside of the joys of raising a wonderful family Elizabeth treasured her involvement in the Beta Sigma Phi sorority where many life long friends were made. Elizabeth was a long time member involved in all aspects of the sorority and recently received her 55-year member award.<br />Sincere thanks to Dr. McKinnon, Dr. Monzon, their support staff and the Palliative Home Care team for their professional and compassionate care.<br />A celebration of her life will take place at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens, 24223 Township Rd 242, Calgary at 2 pm Sunday Feb 7, 2016<br />In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Skin Cancer Foundation, Calgary Women&rsquo;s Emergency Shelter or Calgary Poppy Fund\Veterans Food Drive.<br /></div>
