Graburn, Larry
September 21, 1942 – October 17, 2016

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Larry Graburn, affectionately known as L.B. (or Lar Bear). Larry leaves behind his wife of 30 years, Dawn; children Michael (Sherry), Chad, Amber (Ryan), Lorne, Bethany, Nathan; grandchildren Tanner, Lauren, Adeline, and Georgia; sister Penny; brother Fred; and many nieces and nephews. Larry is predeceased by his mother Winn and father George.

Born and raised in Calgary, Larry graduated from Queen Elizabeth High School. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Alberta and his MBA from UBC. Larry enjoyed a distinguished 35-year career with ATCO Gas.

Larry’s faith in God provoked him to see the best in everyone, and to demonstrate unconditional love. He was known for his tender heart, his quickness to shed tears of joy and in worship, and the ability to encourage those who needed it (and often didn’t know it). As a result, he leaves a legacy of friends of all ages who feel like family, and family who feel they have lost a piece of their being.

How blessed we all are to have someone so precious, which makes saying goodbye so hard. We find comfort knowing that Larry is in heaven.

Please join us in remembering him by using the hashtag #LoveYouBackLB.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 22 at 1:00 p.m. at Calgary Full Gospel Church, 917 14 Ave SW.
