<div itemprop="description">Clifford Allan Rogers, age 96, passed peacefully on Saturday, December 3rd, 2016 in Calgary, Alberta. A Celebration of life is scheduled for Wednesday, December 14th at 2:00 PM at Eden Brook Funeral Home in Calgary, Alberta. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Clifford’s full and long life.<br><br>Clifford is survived by his daughter Debra Lynn Rogers of Guadalajara, Mexico; his son Kenneth Allan & Theresa Marie of Creston, BC; and his nieces Karen McCarthy and Linda Klem; great nieces and nephews Tara and Kyle McCarthy and Delaney and Brendan Klem of Calgary, Betty Jean and Bob Joyce and Glen and Kim Rogers; and his granddaughter Adriana Reyez of Lethbridge, Alberta. Clifford is preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen Rose of Calgary, Alberta; his brothers Franklin and Kenneth and sisters Dorthy and Aletha.<br><br>Clifford was born on August 6th, 1920 in Bromhead, Saskatchewan to parents Walter and Elizabeth Rogers. A proud veteran of the WWII, Cliff has been honored numerous times at Remembrance Day services and memorials alike. He enlisted February 7th, 1942 and discharged February 1946 serving Holland, England and France. Following the end of the war he moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba and accepted a position with Cochrane Stephenson in sales, where he worked for more than thirty-four years. Cliff was a great family man and a loving father. He married Helen Rose in 1951 and had two children, both surviving him.<br><br>A great life well lived, Clifford was a father who cherished his family and friends. Cliff was an amazingly strong and independent man, as well as a social man who was deeply involved in assisting friends and family during his life. He enjoyed gardening, wood working, and home improvements. His family and friends will always remember him as a kind, gentle man with a keen sense of humour. Cliff loved to read about history and geography, Helen and Cliff were square dancers in their day, he enjoyed skating, watching sports, playing pool with friends at the Shalem condo as well being an avid card player and generally anything that would get him out with his friends.<br><br>The family would like to thank Karen McCarthy for her tireless support and care of Clifford, particularly during this last year. In Memory of Clifford donations may be made directly to the Kidney Foundation and the Heart and Stroke Foundation. <br></div>
