BISCHOFF, Rhinny R.

December 25, 1933 – August 26, 2016

Rhinny Bischoff passed away peacefully on Friday, August 26 at the age of 82 years, following a brave six year struggle with dementia. Rhinny is survived by his beloved wife, Victoria (Vicky), his loving children; son David and his wife Lorna and their sons Cameron and Jordan, daughter Diana and her daughter Jenna, and son Robert and his wife Susan and their daughter Brooke.

Rhinny grew up on the family farm in south Saskatchewan, one of nine children born to Valentine and Emelia. His talent for music led him to form a band when he was 17 years old. "The Western Ramblers" toured southern Saskatchewan prior to Rhinny moving to British Columbia to become a telegrapher for the Canadian Pacific Railway.

Rhinny was joined by his loving bride, Vicky, and together they started their family in the alpine village of Field, BC. They soon moved to Calgary, where the entire family resides to this day. Rhinny's career transitioned from the railway to owning his own business as a barber; to a commodity futures broker, with each step bringing greater prosperity. Rhinny enjoyed 30 years of retirement, while continuing to be very active in the markets. His interest in gardening grew later in life but his true passion was to be an armchair quarterback for the NFL.

Throughout their lives together, Vicky and Rhinny's shared love and talent for music has been a delight to all. Rhinny's greatest pride and joy has come from his children and grandchildren. His always positive, encouraging support of their efforts and abilities has formed a legacy of confidence and achievement among them.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (10827 24th Street SW) Calgary, AB.
