<div itemprop="description">REWCASTLE, John Edward (Ted) <br> <br>Ted Rewcastle died Friday, August 5th, 2016 peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba where he started his career with Canadian National Railway at the age of twenty. His career included working in Northwestern Ontario, Manitoba, and finally Saskatoon, Saskatchewan where he retired in 1996 after 35 years of service. He enjoyed a couple of years of retirement, and then rejoined the workforce with Transport Canada in Calgary, Alberta. He celebrated his second retirement in 2007. Ted’s life passions included family (including the two dogs Bailey and Reilly), sports, music, travel, the mountains, as well as the ocean. <br> <br>Ted is survived by his wife of 46 years Lynne; his daughters Kristen (Peter) Busse and Jennifer; his brother Don (Elaine); his nephew Kyle (Ashley) and his great nieces Arabella and Kadence. He is predeceased by his parents John (Ted) and Sarah and niece Bryanna. <br> <br>A Celebration of Ted’s Life with be held at Eden Brook Funeral Home (17 Avenue and Lower Springbank RD S.W, Calgary, AB) on Friday, August 12, 2016 at 2:00pm. A very special thanks to the compassionate care provided by Dr.Christopher Heeg, Dr. Chris Hergott, Dr. Desiree Hao and her clinic nurse Cheyanne, Dr. Lyle Galloway, Dr. David Skarsgard, and the rest of the wonderful staff and volunteers at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre. We feel immense gratitude for the love and care demonstrated by Helen Davies and Sarah Marten from Palliative Home Care. <br></div>
