She met Stephen at the University of Waterloo, where they both completed a BSc in Kinesiology. She worked as a Kinesiologist in Toronto and then Calgary. Jennifer and Stephen were married in 1999, the same year they moved to Edmonton. While in Edmonton, Jennifer worked as a rehabilitation consultant, health and safety consultant, and disability manager at ACCLAIM-SBA, WorkSMART, and EPCOR, respectively.
Jennifer's dream was to be a Mom, and her dream was fulfilled with Nicholas, Alyssa, and Vincent. After the birth of Alyssa, Jennifer became a stay-at-home-mom and a dedicated volunteer with Girl Guides of Canada and Robert Bateman Public School in Ottawa, where the family relocated in 2004. She had a passion for children and teaching, and in 2013 she completed a Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Ottawa.
The family relocated to Calgary in 2013, where she was a primary school teacher in the Calgary Board of Education, most recently at William Reid.
Jennifer was an exceptionally warm, genuine, generous, and thoughtful person who cared deeply for others. She was a gentle soul who was easy to love and had many "friends for life". She was an extremely devoted and loving wife and mother who poured her heart and soul into her family. She lived a selfless life marked by compassion, integrity, strength of character, and courage.
Jennifer received wonderful care from Dr. Tsang, Barb, and Louanne at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, and a special note of gratitude goes to Dr. Parhar and the Foothills Medical Centre ICU team for their compassionate care and efforts.
A Celebration of Jennifer’s Life will be held at Eden Brook Funeral Home (17 Avenue and Lower Springbank RD S.W, Calgary, AB) on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 2:00pm.
