Jim was predeceased by his wife Margaret in 2013, his sister Helen in 2008, his mother, Fannie Gibson in 1948 and his father John Gibson in 1965.
Jim was born in Finnie, Saskatchewan and grew up in rural SE Saskatchewan where his father worked as a grain elevator operator. Jim served with The Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada during World War 2 and was part of the Normandy invasion force in 1944 and saw action in France and the low countries until the end of the war.
Upon returning home Jim studied business and accounting at the University of Saskatchewan, before embarking on a career in audit and accounting.
