<div itemprop="description">LINKE, Annie Alwine<br>1918 – 2016<br>Annie Linke of Calgary passed away peacefully on Saturday October 22, 2016 at the age of 98 years. Annie was born on March 4, 1918 at Verden, Germany. She married Herbert in 1948, and in 1954 with their son Volker, they emigrated from Germany, settling in at Brooks, Alberta. The family moved to Calgary in 1956. Annie found work as food prep in the kitchen at the Bethany Care Centre, where she worked for many years. She was also a skilled seamstress. Annie loved to bake and her German chocolate cake was incredible! She also loved to watch her favourite sports team, soap operas, and game shows on tv. Annie will be sadly missed by her son Volker and his wife Denise of Mirror, AB. Robert and Monika of Ronnenberg, Germany. Her best friend Elisabeth Brau, God daughter Diane, Marcus & Lisa Brau and family. Annie wanted to acknowledge a special thanks to her adopted family Cherry & Peter Clark and grandchildren Mike, Joanne, Renée for their love and support that allowed her to remain in her home until the age of 98. She will be remembered by many neighbours who became good friends over the years. Annie was predeceased by her husband Herb, sister Margaret and long-time friend Karl-Heinz Brau. A tree will be planted by her family in her memory. A visitation will be held at Eden Brook Funeral Home on Tuesday November 1, 2016 at 10a.m.-12 p.m, informal gathering of family and friends on Thursday November 3, 11a.m with interment of urn to follow. <br></div>
