MICHAEL “BRUCE” WEDLEY
It is with deep sadness to announce the passing of Bruce on August 23, 2016. Bruce was born and raised in Calgary on May 18, 1960, and Graduated at Viscount Bennett. Bruce worked as a brick layers helper for CANA Construction for years, when working at CANA that is where he met his future wife Lynn, she worked there as a tin basher. They have been together for 36 years. Then Bruce decided he didn’t want to work outside in the winter cold anymore, so he moved on to an inside job at Orbit Valve, and worked his way up to sales. Then Orbit became Cooper Cameron Canada and Bruce worked in sales and account management. He worked there for 33 years.
On May 7, 1990 was the best day of Bruce and Lynn’s lives as that’s when their son Michael Frank Wedley was born.
If Bruce wasn’t working, he was golfing. Actually, even when he was working he was golfing! When he had extra time he would be working on his orange ’71 Charger Super Bee or he would be helping his friends with anything that needed to be done. He enjoyed going to the lake at Care Free Resort in the summer. He would either be on the sea-doos with Mike or taking trailer loads of drift wood out of the marina.
He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend.
Special thanks to Dr. Bebb at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and the rest of the Staff. For friends and family attending the service for Bruce the theme is golf wear, anything orange, or Dodge Hemi, jeans, t-shirts, anything goes. (Bruce wasn’t a suit guy). Delivery of flowers can be made the morning of the service or in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre. A celebration of Bruce’s life will be held on Saturday September 10, at 1:00 pm at Eden Brook Funeral Home.
