<div itemprop="description"><br />OLSON &ndash; Glen<br />1927 - 2015<br /><br />On Thursday March 26, 2015 Great Grandpa Glen passed away peacefully in the presence of his family. He met the love of his life, Millicent (Millie) Hackney and they were married December 20, 1944. They just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Glen worked for PFRA traveling the Prairie Provinces with Millie and their three young children before settling in Bowness/Calgary where the children went to school. He worked for three years for International Harvester and ran the BA service station in Bowness. Glen loved curling in the winter, golfing in the summer and was a huge fan of the horse races. The family spent many weekends camping with their young family. For 33 years, Glen and Millie were active members in the Springbank Heritage Club where they enjoyed numerous social activities and forged lasting friendships. Glen was born to Emil and Hazel Olson March 24, 1927 in Yorkton Sk. He was the youngest of three sisters and two brothers. Glen was predeceased by his beloved youngest daughter, Erma Joan Pearce and granddaughter Jenny Pearce. He leaves behind a large and loving family; his son Garth (Helen) and his daughter Jean. Millie and Glen were blessed with seven grandchildren: Vicki (Steve), Darrin, Ryan (Sharon), Sherri (Don), Jeff, Jason (Sandra), and Earl. And seven great grandchildren: Devon, Jordan, Sam, Cristina, Benjamin, Christopher and Madison. A Celebration of Life will be held at Eden Brook Funeral Home on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. If so desired, memorial donations may be made in Glen&rsquo;s name directly to the Alberta Heart &amp; Stroke Foundation (100-119 14 Street NW, Calgary, Alberta T2N 1Z6).</div>
