<div itemprop="description">It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother Berta, on July 2, 2016, at the Bethany Care Centre, Calgary. Berta was born in the beautiful mountain village of Nikolsdorf, Austria and would later meet her husband Otto in the romantic city of Innsbruck. She followed Dad to Sudbury, Ontario in the early 1950’s where they would be married and start their family. They moved to Brampton, Ontario in the early 1960’s where they would reside until Dad’s passing. She would then join her children in Calgary. <br> <br>Mom was an excellent cook, enjoyed gardening and taking brisk walks. Mom will be forever remembered for her strength, kindness, devotion and unconditional love. <br> <br>Berta is survived by her son Gary, daughter Caroline (Kelly) Smith, and granddaughter, Alexandra. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Otto. <br> <br>We wish to thank her caregivers, Nicole and Jackie, for the love and care they provided. Donations if so desired can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada. <br></div>
