<div itemprop="description">BELMONTE, Remigio Sr. <br>Passed away suddenly in Calgary on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at the age of 89. He is survived by his wife, Ethel, his children Hazeline (Peter), Remie Jr. (Kim), Ada (Ramon), Max (Karmen), Rainier, Jackie (Robbin) and Marie. Grandchildren: Jason (Chantelle), Colin, Michael (Jeannelle), Remie III (Sarah), Lani (Ryan), Ryan, Crystal (Abdu), Jennifer (Jonah), Chad, Erica (Cody), Makayla, Brandon, Jeremie and also 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his older brother, Isidro, from Kauai, Hawaii and many nieces and nephews from here and afar. Remigio was born in San Manuel, Pangasinan, Philippines. He taught at the University in Santiago where he met his wife, Ethel. They then moved to Manila where he taught at the University and also worked as the Program Director for the Boy Scouts of the Philippines. It was in September 1967 when he came to Canada & taught in Hilda, Alberta. He was predeceased by his parents, Leon & Hilaria Belmonte, sisters, Esperanza Diaz and Petra Ovalles and brother, Arturo Belmonte, as well as his father and mother-in-law, Alipio & Felicidad Taguinod. Remigio was a good father, provider, mentor and friend to many. He and his wife were also godparents to numerous couples. He was a proud man and he certainly was very proud of his children to which he always called them his “magnificent 7” and last but not least, he adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will certainly be missed by many. “Dad we miss you, love you and will forever be in our hearts…till we meet again, rest in peace” <br></div>
